Where to Smoke
Members of The Brotherhood enjoy a legal past time that constantly under attack by the smoke Nazi’s out there and because of their no compromise attitude and a dizzying array of pseudo scientific catchy slogans like “Second hand smoke kills”, we find it increasingly difficult to enjoy our cigars. Oh yeah did I mention that it is still legal to enjoy tobacco. Just wanted to be sure you knew that fact. A while back I added a post entitled “I’m Freezing my Ash off” (click the link to read the full article) and asked you to help me create an ever changing list of places we can frequent that will still allow their patroons the simple pleasure of a premium cigar or pipe.
The Vault – 127 N. Broadway, Depere WI
The Vault is an upscale sports and live music bar that offers a superb menu with a great selection of beers or wine to fit any occasion. The Vault is the perfect spot to watch the game, catch a band or relax with a wide variety of Wisconsin cuisine prepared by my favorite chef.
St. Brendans Inn – 234 South Washington, Green Bay, WI
St. Brendan’s Inn offers lodging accommodations, authentic Irish food, Irish drink and Irish music – all in an elegant, yet comfortable, setting that not only encourages you to enjoy a cigar, they even sell them. Smoking is restricted to the bar area however but it keeps you close to a great selection of imported beers and wide variety of Irish Whiskey just begging to be sampled.
Knights on Main – 401 Main Street, DePere, WI
With one of the classiest menus around, Knights bridges the gap between local booze joint and upscale restaurant. A smoke free dining room is available but we have always been give the green light to enjoy a cigar while savoring one of the many craft brews they offer. Knights is a great spot for lunch or later afternoon get away.
Ten O One Club
The Ten O One Club is an old world style pub located at the corner of Webster and Main Street in Green Bay and boasts a nice wine and brew selectionto accompany thier very extensive menu loaded with just about anything you can imagine. You can enjoy dining in the resturant section or bar area but smoking is only permitted at the bar.
Remember that these places “allow” us the chance to enjoy our cigars so please be considerate of their bar and other patrons by always asking before lighting up. There is nothing more frustrating than being told to put out a freshly lit cigar. Do you have a favorite place that needs to added to the list. Other places that are cigar-friendly include Top Hat (Main Street GB), C-Street (downtown GB), Sports Corner (DePere) and Knuckles (downtown GB, the old Maloney’s).
You cannot forget the ever popular and always scenic location – Tilted Kilt.
Little chicago in Depere, and Ricky T’s on Riverside in Allouez

Hey guys, some great places you are adding to the list. Who could ever forget Jimmy Sea’s? Possibly the best summer hang out in Green Bay. They have also been gracious enough to let us call their private upstairs room home for a long time. If we didn’t outgrow the space we would still be there for our Cigar nights. We will be back once the weather warms up to enjoy the wrap around deck, great food, top notch service and awesome views of the river.
Don’t forget about Hinterland in the upstairs bar, they bring out cigar ash trays and have a selection of cigars to offer. Also there is a great ventilation system there so if you are with a friend that doesn’t smoke it isn’t too bad.
Great pick Shaun! I’ve heard many good things about not only how great the food is at Hinterland, but that it’s a great place to enjoy a cigar. I will admit I have not been down there but now it’s going near the top of my list of places I still need to go.
Hey guy’s a long time favorite dinner place that you can enjoy a good cigar before or after dinner or no dinner just good cocktails is Rivers Bend, Also Ziggy’s will let you have a good smoke too.
