Successful Cigar Night

Posted By on February 6, 2009

By now Jimmy has hopefully cleaned up all the remaining cigar butts and emptied the overfilled ashtrays from our February Cigar Night at The Vault.  From all the guys that work hard to put on our monthly events, thank you for a great turnout and for making it one of our best attended Cigar Nights to date.  I guess when I give you fellas a challenge you really take me seriously.  When I offered to give out a prize to the member that brought the most guests I figured maybe I’d see one or two guests per guy.  Holy shit was I wrong!  A big congratulations goes out to Brother Greg (Big Air) Dallaire for showing 6 new friends the joys of Cigar Night.  In a very close second was our very own Managing Director and Fire Procurement Officer Rick Rentmeester.  I want to thank the rest of you guys for introducing the club to many new faces this month and I know we’re looking  forward to seeing you all again in March.  The challenge now is to continue finding every cigar smoker in Northeast Wisconsin and invite them to Cigar Night.

Besides a bar full of cigar smokers we had our friends from Titletown Tobacco there again offering some great smokes and advice for our novice aficionados.  Eric, Jimmy C and The Cigar Soldier himself even gave the guys a little taste of music as 12 volt Band. (Playing next at Jimmy Sea’s for the March of Dimes Benefit on March 12th)  The real highlight of the night of course was breaking in The Vault.  A big thanks to Jimmy for having an open house only for The Brotherhood of the Leaf and allowing us to trash the place before it’s even open.  For any of you guys that may have missed it, there were a group of about 6 or 7 gents that wandered into the bar later in the evening looking for a place to have a couple bowls of loud mouth soup.  You should have seen the look on their faces when they saw a room full of guys enjoying drinks, cigars, live music and sports on the new plasma TVs when we told them that The Vault isn’t actually open yet so they couldn’t get served a beer.  I think one of the  guys actually started to cry.  No, I’m just messin’ with ya but you could tell they felt like they were missing out on a great time.  Hopefully we’ll see some of those boys next month.

It was a wonderful night to enjoy the company of The Brotherhood and I am really looking forward to next month.  Be sure to reserve March 3rd on your calendar as we connive for another great night of drinks, stories and of course CIGARS!
