October Updates

Posted By on October 15, 2009

So much for global warming.  I guess the colder then normal temps can be attributed to the lack of Al Gore’s pompous wind bag speeches.  Since that fat douche bag shut his mouth it seems that the the ominous onset of extreme global heating has somewhat dissipated.  I could be wrong but I doubt it.  Thank god we had a warm place to enjoy our cigars in the private lounge at Titletown Tobacco on the 1st of the month.  We enjoyed a great night of extra inning baseball followed by local celebrity Adam Paal of Fire up that Cigar.com giving us some back to basic explanations about cigars.  I think even our more seasoned cigarophiles took away a little something new from Adam’s expertise.  Next month we’re bringing him back for a tasting session so prepare to learn more about how to really enjoy cigars.

BIG NEWS!  Next week we kick off the first Cigar Night in Appleton on the 21st.  Spread the word and make sure you stop in at Appleton Souvenir & Cigar Co.  any time after 5:30 to join in.  The new chapter will be structured just like our current chapter in Green Bay with different levels of Club membership each with it’s own special set of perks.  I hope that you are helping to spread the word and that some of you guys make the run South to join us and welcome some new faces to The Brotherhood of the Leaf.

Your last opportunity to sign up as a “Charter Member” is quickly coming to an end.  If you still want to get in before the doors are forever shut to get that honored designation, email me right now and get signed up.  The final cut-off will be next Wednesday night when we start to welcome the new Charter Members of our Appleton/Fox Valley Club.   I get to be a Charter Member in both locations so try not to let your jealousy get the best of you.

I know we’re still a few months away from Christmas but I guess if the stores can start putting out decorations we might as well address a few topics now also.  Of course we will do our annual cigar gift exchange since the last few years have been a blast and the gifts seem to keep getting better.  If you’re new to the group I’ll have plenty more information for you in the upcoming months to get you ready for our Christmas party.  The big reason I’m mentioning the festivities of my favorite season is to gauge your response to a family orientated get together.   Now before you freak out about bringing the family along hear me out.  We’ re looking at at a mid December hay ride on an old fashioned sleigh followed by a roaring campfire, warm drinks and of course cigars.   I’ve got it basically set so let me know if you are interested by adding a post below, shooting me an email or just stop me next month at Cigar Night.

See you boys next week.  Of course unless we lose to the Lions this weekend because then I’ll have to put a bullet in my head.

  1. First Lady says:

December hay ride, etc. sounds like a blast! Hey, maybe get that scheduled sooner than later…December is a busy month and people are already scheduling it full. That way it’s planned for. I can bring that boyfriend of mine. Let me know if you need any help with the event. I can always say “a gee, sorry, busy, but hey I think Flounder wants to help.” j/k LOL xoxoxo

  2. Once I get word from a few more I’ll look into dates. I’m sure Flounder would love to help organize this baby; I can pay him in Old Fashions.
