Happy Easter you smoke monkeys!  If I remember the story correctly, three days after his crucifixion Mary Magdalene went to the tomb where Jesus was laid to see his body.  But Jesus had risen from the dead and the stone in front of his tomb had been rolled away.  The story says, if Jesus walks out and sees his shadow, six more weeks of winter.  My facts may be a bit off but I’m pretty sure it went something like that.  I’ve got some quick updates for you guys so I’ll save any rants for another day.

1) First off, yours truly has been selected to be an Ambassador for the Cigar Rights of America.  My application was accepted making me one of only two ambassadors in the entire state of Wisconsin.  I’ll have much more information to follow but you can expect that we’ll have some great chances to be involved in saving our right to enjoy cigars. 

2) Membership renewals will be going out shortly!  For those guys that are charter members and signed up right away last year, you’ll be receiving application renewal forms for this year.  I hope that you all sign up again and continue to enjoy what the club has to offer.  The more people we have the more perks that I’ll be able to make available.  This year we have new shirts and you’ll still get the special designation of  “Charter Member”  embroidered on it for all the world to see.  Remember that you can’t take a year off and still be a charter member!  The great guys at Titletown Tobacco will again have monthly discounts available with your punch cards and I will be offering on all new applications and renewals the chance to sign up for The Cigar Rights of America.

3) Cigar Night is April 6th at Titletown Tobacco so mark your calendars for next week.  Over the next few months we’ll be hitting a few places that we owe a huge thank you to for their support and for allowing us to hold our cigar nights over the last year.  We will invade The Vault in May and then converge on the upstairs deck at Jimmy Sea’s in June.  After that we’ll be banished from smoking in bars thanks to Diamond Jim Doyle so this is our way of supporting those places that were gracious enough to let us stink up their joints.  Speaking of gracious, I’m sure you guys know that The Lounge at TitletownTobacco is actually a private members only lounge.  The guys have gone out of their way to accommodate us as a club and let us use the facility at no charge and I can’t personally thank them enough.  Please help show your appreciation by not only purchasing cigars but by doing your best to clean up when we have our cigar nights there.  Take a few minutes before heading out to wipe up any mess, put your glasses in the dishwasher and toss any trash or recyclables in the correct containers.  I thank you fat bastids in advance for your help.

4) Hot chicks and cigars.  Got your attention yet?  April 8th is the next big event at Titletown Tobacco and I think you guys are really going to enjoy this one.  Check out the flyer for more details.  Stop down early if you like because I’ll be there watching the Badgers try to make their way through the Frozen Four and grab another National Championship.  The game starts at four so I hope to see you there if not for some great hockey at least for the event.

5) Brotherhood of the Leaf club wear will soon be available for you to purchase.  Steve Vincent from Bayside Printing has set us up with a few items I think you guys will like.  I have some restrictions on what type of apparel you can put our logo on so I figured it’s time to make some stuff available.  If you have an item you would like to have logo-ed, please see me and we’ll look into having that done for you.  Check out the website for more details very soon.

I think that covers it for now and although I’m sure I missed something, it will have to wait until next time.
