Cigaro de Mayo 2010

Posted By on April 28, 2010

Hooray hooray the first of May, outside screwing begins today!  Wells it’s actually not quite the first of May but it’s awfully damn close.  The great thing is that we’re only days away from celebrating our version of Cinco de Mayo which has affectionately been dubbed “Cigaro de Mayo” for those of you bastids lucky enough to have been part of The Brotherhood last year.  If you’re easy offended by our take on this holiday, let me speak for the group, FUCK YOU!  It’s a play on words and it’s all for fun so figure out a way to deal with it.  Last year we had our Cigaro de Mayo party at DePere’s hottest new bar The Vault, so it only seemed appropriate that we return this year.  Although this year we’ll be a day early for the real Cinco de Mayo, Cigar Night will be May 4th at The Vault as a thank you for all that bar owner and fellow member of The Brotherhood Jimmy C. has done for our club that last few years.

I’m sure you guys are aware of my take on the upcoming smoking ban scheduled to take affect this July, hell I’ve only been ranting about  it since the inception of this site.  So with this ban looming on the immediate horizon we are making our farewell to the bars tour as a club.  May 4th will be our chance to enjoy the confines of The Vault and pay a special thank you to Jimmy C. for allowing us access to his establishment and for welcoming the club into his bar for our Cigar Nights. In June we’ll take over Jimmy Sea’s for out last official outing outside of our new home at Titletown tobacco.

As usual we’ll be meeting anytime after 5 and for those of you that would like to get a jump start on the evening the bar will be open by 4:30 so please feel free to stop down.  Our group will be in the back end of the bar where we will have our own tables and waitstaff so we don’t compete for space with the other patrons.  I ask that you all take extra consideration this night since Jimmy C. and his staff will be going out of their way to make us feel at home.  Please return the favor by hanging out in the back room.  Tuesdays are a big night at The Vault and I want you guys to do your best to show them the high caliber our club is by respecting their space.  We have always been welcome here so show your support for Jimmy by being courteous to his regulars and by saying thank you for the many good months he allowed us to call his bar our home.  Hey, remember that it’s Diamond Jim Doyle and his anti smoking zealots and not our local bar owners that are the cause of the smoking ban.

Some of you guys may have received your renewal paperwork recently so please take a moment to consider your options in our club and return your selections as soon as you can.  This club only functions because of you guys, your memberships and the dedication you have to keeping the cigar lifestyle alive.  This year will be bigger and better than ever and I have many more events and perks available only to our paid members so please see me if you can’t decide at what level to sign up.  I again need website sponsors so please look at making the small extra contribution to maintain this wonderful site, there may just be a few cigars in it for you.  I also ask that you seriously look at making the leap to join the Cigar Rights of America since this is the only organization fighting against higher taxes and smoking bans.  That is why I joined the group and have been selected as one of only two Ambassadors to the CRA in the state of Wisconsin.  That’s right bitches, your very own Cigar Soldier is big time!

I guess that takes care of the important matters at hand but look for more updates coming very soon about memberships, club wear and of course Cigar Night locations and events.  We have reached the end of our first year of paid membership and I must say that this group is bigger than I ever imagined but now I expect it to tower last years numbers.  Please help me make that happen since all the rewards of this group go to you as it’s members.

P.S. Be sure to wear your club shirts on Tuesday, there just may be a special guest in attendance.

Peace out my minions,

The Cigar Soldier
