August Cigar Night

Posted By on August 2, 2009

Can you believe that we’re already in August?  Of course that means summer is flying by, I haven’t done shit yet and our beloved Brewers are in their annual post All Star Game slump.  Some things never seem to change.  Of course the best part about being August is that football is starting so my Saturday and Sunday afternoons will finally have meaning again.  The best part that is that as of the time I’m typing this up, Favre is still retired and won’t be wearing that hideous fucken purple jersey when the Vikes roll into Lambeau in early November.  I guess the third time (of retiring) is really the charm.  Or is it?

Aside from being so stoked that my Green and Gold are back in camp, I’m really fired up about the great stuff we have coming up for the club in the next few weeks.  You all know that on Tuesday August 4th we will be back at Jimmy Sea’s for Cigar Night.  We’ll be taking over the upstairs room and upper deck for a night on the river so lets hope for great weather so we can enjoy our cigars outside.  Mike and Aaron from Titletown Tobacco have picked out some super primo stuff for us as well.  You guys will get the chance to try the 601 Habano Oscuro Trabuco and the Cabaiguan Belicoso Fino.  I told you, primo smokes!  Both of these sticks are blended by Pepin Garcia so you know you are in for a treat with his cigars being some of the most sought after blends in today’s marketplace.  I also promised a great prize for the paid club member that brings in the most new recruits and hopefully we can crown a winner by next week.  Don’t forget that time is running out to sign up as a “Charter Member” so get your application in before the club becomes government run and I loose all control over any of it’s activities.

I said I was stoked about about a few things coming up and the other event this month is our Whiskey Night at the Raddison Paper Valley in Appleton.  On August 18th we will have the opportunity to sample some booze and fill our pie holes will great food so mark it down to attend.  The evening will cost a measly $25 bucks which is far less than most of you guys spend at the strip club when you tell the wife you’re running to the store.  You do need to RSVP with me soon so we can tell the cook how much food to make as well as let the liquor distributor know if we need a case or a pallet of Whiskey.  It will be a great night and if the weather cooperates we can enjoy some cigars in the Courtyard.  You definitely do not want to miss this night.  I expect you all to show up in your Cigar Club shirts!  You should be wearing them anytime you’re in public anyway.  Just email me at thecigarsoldier@cigarnightonline.com  and let me know if you can attend.

My last bit of news for you guys should really get you excited.  With all the places that prohibit us from enjoying a good cigar, and a total statewide ban in the very near future, it’s nearly impossible to find somewhere to light up.  The reality is that about the only place to have a cigar is at home but sometimes dealing with the restrictive  law is more appealing than contending with the obstacles of lighting up at home. (translation = bitchy wife)  Well just where in the hell is the exciting news in this scenario?  I’m getting there!  The guys from Titletown Tobacco will be opening up a new retail store and private members smoking lounge. The building is already in full scale remodel mode so it won’t be long before you can get signed up to enjoy your own very exclusive private lounge where you’ll never be asked to put out your freshly lit cigar.  That is great new for cigar smokers throughout Northeast Wisconsin.  I have already worked out a great deal for the guys that are VIP and Platinum members of The Brotherhood of the Leaf Cigar Club so you will get an unbelievable discount if you also choose to become a member of The Lounge.

I think I shared all I can for now.  Your wife is calling my name from the other room, see you Tuesday.
